An Overview

i&m is a popular science magazine that describes how society changes as a result of migration and cultural encounters. The magazine reflects debates and research on immigrant and minority issues, and follows up and provides the background to actual events. The majority of the authors are also researchers.

The magazine is aimed at anyone interested in deepening their knowledge about important, current social issues. We work towards a multicultural and integrated society. The magazine is directed at those who come in contact with people from different ethnic groups in their work situations.

i&m, Immigrants & Minorities, is Sweden’s longest established magazine dealing with ethnicity and minority issues. Founded in 1973, it is published by a Foundation (with the same name as the journal) that is politically and religiously neutral. The Foundation’s Chairman is Åke Daun, Professor Emeritus in Ethnology at Stockholm University.

The magazine is supported by The Swedish National Council for Cultural Affairs, the Swedish Council for Working Life and Social Research (FAS) and The Multicultural Centre.
